During these difficult and uncertain times, we are reminded daily of the important role that art, beauty and design plays in a healthy and functioning society. The work that our U.S. Antique Shows community represents holds a relevant place in history, and your passion in sharing these incredible designs with the world is nothing short of inspiring.
Maintaining the health and safety of every member of this incredible community, as well as that of the U.S. Antique Shows team, is paramount to us. With that said, amidst growing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and after having extensive discussions with many of you, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 Las Vegas Antique Jewelry and Watch Show event, which had been scheduled for June 1-5, 2020 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
This is due to recent developments regarding COVID-19, that include, but are not limited to, the declaration of a National State of Emergency by President Trump; the various statewide states of emergency declared across the nation; the latest federal measures, including travel restrictions placed on foreign nationals traveling to the United States from certain EU member states and other places; the declaration by the WHO of COVID-19 as a pandemic; the accelerating pace of confirmed cases worldwide and domestically; the current quarantines, containment areas and restrictions on congregating and large gatherings imposed by states and other government and public health authorities; various company-imposed travel restrictions on employees affecting attendees and participating companies; and the resulting cancellations made by several key Las Vegas Antique Jewelry and Watch Show customers and partners. These developments have made it impossible to effectively execute a June event that delivers the level of education, connection and value that our community expects.
We are focused on continuing to serve this community, creating ways to connect and working closely with each of our partners, to provide the necessary support and information to enhance your businesses throughout the year. While we all exercise social distancing, we will be utilizing our various outlets to promote the beauty and artistry that you all represent, and we look forward to maintaining our important connections, albeit virtually.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We deeply value your ongoing loyalty to U.S. Antique Shows and thank you in advance for your understanding. The information on our website will be promptly updated and further announcements regarding the 2021 edition of the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry and Watch Show will be posted in the coming days and weeks. In the meantime, our New York Antique Jewelry and Watch Show is still scheduled to take place at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City, July 24-26, 2020 and we look forward to seeing you there!
Our thoughts are with all of you during this time. The safety and well-being of our attendees, exhibitors, and the U.S. Antique Shows team will always come first.
Stay safe, stay healthy.
